Kuala Lumpur, 8th October
2008 - GHL Systems, the Asia-Pacific region's leading payments solutions provider has recently been awarded by MasterCard Worldwide as its Best Product
Solutions Partner at the recent
MasterCard Asia/Pacific Middle
East & Africa (APMEA) Product
Conference and Technology Fair
2008 in Singapore.
The award affirms and recognizes
GHL Systems' achievements and
commitment for developing and
supplying its brand of contactless readers - the increasingly ubiquitous VersaRead
VR-300 - that has been widely deployed across the Asia/Pacific region in support
of the MasterCard's PayPass Contactless Payment scheme.
In two short years, the current generation of the VR-300 has gone from strengthto-
strength, and is regarded by many to be among the most innovative contactless
reader in the market today.
GHL Systems was the first to recognize the necessity for a global interoperable
contactless solution that would marry the world's most popular contactless
payment schemes into a single reader. As a result, the VR-300 was the first reader
in the world to accept multiple contactless payment schemes.
Additionally, the VR-300 also first introduced initiatives to encourage contactless
payments further by providing a straightforward, refined and consistent
contactless payment workflow whereupon after a transaction amount was entered
into the EDC terminal, it would then initiate both the terminal contact and
contactless reader into a state of readiness - allowing the payment to be
conducted in either a contactless, contact or magstripe method. This simplified
the payment process a notch since it removed the necessity for the cashier or
checkout operator to prompt the customer which payment method was preferred.
“We are extremely excited and happy to receive this award. With such recognition
from MasterCard of our efforts, the VersaRead VR-300 has proved yet again
GHL Systems' ability to deliver world-class contactless solutions. We are now
even more encouraged and shall renew our commitment in working closely with
MasterCard Worldwide to further promote the contactless payments agenda”,
said Mr. Tay Beng Lock, Group Managing Director of GHL Systems.
“Not resting on our laurels, GHL Systems will continue to develop and grow our
suite of compelling products and services offerings and to further deepen our
partnership with MasterCard”, Tay added.
GHL Systems is now working on the next-generation of VersaRead contactless
readers and is expected to be launched by the second quarter of 2009.
