KUALA LUMPUR: Payment solutions enabler GHL Systems Bhd plans to expand its presence in China by opening new offices in eight cities this year, group managing director Tay Beng Lock said.

The company would tie up with a local bank in China to further expand its business there, he said. GHL now has an office in Beijing and a small research and development facility in Wuhan.

Speaking after the prize-giving ceremony of the company's “Pay & Win” contest yesterday, Tay said GHL expected overseas business to contribute 50% to turnover by 2009.

Overseas business contributed 17.8% to the company's turnover last year and 10.8% in 2005, he said.
